A 19th Century Marble of The Alcibiades Dog. The hound sitting on his haunches, resting on his front legs. His head raised, his mouth slightly open, and his tail curled behind him. On a continuous rectangular base, with cut corners. After the original in the Vatican Museum, and a copy, known as 'Jenkins Dog' is in the Victoria and Albert Museum. Date c 1850. Height 4 1/2 inches, width 4 1/2 inches, depth 2 1/2 inches.
