19TH C PLASTER BUST OF MENELAUS

A 19th Century Classical Plaster Bust of Menelaus. The Spartan warrior turning to his right, he wears a helmet, decorated with Centaurs and Eagles. His profile showing his curling hair, beard, and semi draped chest. The bust raised on a waisted socle and square plinth. The whole decorated and semi glazed. Date circa 1870. Height 16 1/2 inches, 42cm. Width 9 inches, 23cm. Depth 5 1/2 inches, 14cm.
