LION DOOR PORTER 1850

A 19th Century Cast Iron Door Porter in the shape of a lion. The lion standing in foliage, the beast looking over his shoulder a a snake emerging from the undergrowth. The snake twisting upward to form the handle, enclosing a conch shell. The whole on a stepped plinth base, with slightly outward sweeping returns. Height 11 1/2 inches, width 7 1/4 inches, depth 2 1/4 inches. Date c 1850.
