A Pair of 18th Century Flintlock Pistols. Each pistol with a brass barrel, the barrels with rounded and stepped muzzle ends, the barrels tapering slightly to likewise rounded and stepped collars, before octagonal reeded corners. The flintlock mechanisms holding correctly on two stages, and held with a slide safety. The housing engraved with decoration of canons, drums and colours, the trigger guards with star burst engraving, the walnut grips inlaid with brass cartouches. All in very good original condition. Date circa 1780. Height 3 3/4 inches, 9.5cm. Width 6 1/4 inches, 16cm. Depth 3/4 inch, 2cm.Ref: 23929
