PAIR OF EARLY 19TH C CARVED WALNUT FIGURES

A pair of early 19th Century carved walnut figures of herm form. The bearded warriors each holding a draped cloak above their heads and wearing a classical Roman breast plate, skirt, leggings and boots. Each holds a tall scrolled shield. They stand on small block plinths. Deeply carved with a somewhat humorous appeal.

H 22 inches; w 8 inches; d 4 inches.
