A Pair of Early 19th Century Tole Vases and Covers. Each with a domed navette shaped cover, with a scrolling loop handle finial, set with leaf decoration repeated to the rim in a broader band. the covers fitting within the conforming navette vases, mounted to either end with leaf and scroll h andles. the bodies decorated with bands of leaves and flowers, as per the covers, above rural scenes. The bodies raised on concave rectangular bases, likewise decorated with leaf and flower banding. Date circa 1820. Height 7 1/2 inches, 19cm. Width 12 inches, 31cm. Depth 5 1/2 inches, 14cm.Ref:
