An 18th Century Silver Wine Funnel. The wine funnel with a broad tapering bowl, finished with a reeded rim, and decanter bracket. The centre of the bowl with a petal design centre sieve. The bowl fitting within the reeded rimmed cup of the lower section. The cup decorated with arcaded reeds, tapering to a reed collar, before the long tapering spout, with an offset sparrow beak opening. Hallmarked for London 1790. In very good condition, and is of the ‘earlier’ pattern, whereby the bowl fits within a cup, rather than simply joining the spout. Height 5 ½ inches, 14cm. Width 3 ¼ inches, 8.5cm.
