A George III Silver Classical Vase and Cover. The 18th century vase and cover, the cover with a vase finial, above the bell shaped body decorated with spreading and falling leaves, surrounded by a leaf decorated rim. The vase with a raised and ring rimmed neck, sweeping in a concave curve to a band of leaf decoration. The body decorated with swages, above rising leaf cups. The vase raised up on a spreading circular foot, decorated with leaves as per the cover and shoulders. The foot finished with a ring mould rim. The vase mounted with a pair of leaf handles, rising to scrolls. Hallmarked for William Abdy, London 1786. Height 7 3/4 inches, 19.5cm. Width 4 inches, 10cm. Depth 3 1/2 inches, 9cm.Ref: 22005
