A Large 18th Century Silver Tankard. The George III silver tankard with a ringed and domed cover, hinging with a scrolled and reeded thumb piece, decorated to the rear with rising leaves. The scrolling and tapered handle, with the stepped bracket hinge, the handle tapering to a heart terminal. The waisted body gently sweeping outward and downward to a horizontal ring banding and continuing to the ringed and spreading foot, with a recessed rim. Hallmarked to cover and body for Thomas Wallis, London 1784. Height 8 inches, 21cm. Width 7 inches, 18cm. Depth 5 inches, 13cm.
