A Good 19th Century Silver Sugar Castor. The good quality silver sugar castor with a classical vase finial, above the domed cover, decorated with wyvern reeding, above a band of hanging leaves, pierced as a sieve. The lid broadening to a mould edge rim, fitting with a gadrooned collar to the top of the body, with a gadrooned shoulder, the body tapering to a wyvern reeded cup, and ring socle. The circular foot spreading to a curving gadrooned rim, and thence the raised edge outer rim. Noticeable heavy and excellent quality. Hallmarked for Charles Fox, London 1887.
