A pair of large 19th century silver plated basting spoons, each with a broad bowl, the undersides of the bowls with rats tails, sweeping into the long shanks tapering outward and into a gentle chamfer, to finish with bow terminals. The rear of the handles with engraved armorials, and hallmarked for WEST AND SON, DUBLIN, and with the retailers mark of Martin & Hall. Date circa 1860. Height 1 1/2 inches, 4cm. Length 12 1/2 inches, 31cm. Depth 2 1/2 inches, 6cm.
